State Minister for Commerce Ahsanul Islam Titu said that despite the obstacles, the supply of products in the market has been kept uninterrupted. He said this after visiting the TCB product sales point at Shanti Bagh in the capital on Friday (August 2).

State Minister of Commerce said, we ourselves are going to the market. We are monitoring from wholesale to retail level. There is no shortage of products in any market. Despite all these obstacles, we have been able to keep the supply of products in the market uninterrupted.

He said, you know there was no supply in the market for 7-8 days. Shopkeepers take advantage of this supply situation. That is unethical. If you tell us, we will take action.

Regarding the increased price of rice, the state minister said that the supply system of rice from the mill to the wholesale market should be uninterrupted, the trucks should be able to come easily, we are taking those measures. We have enough rice. We are trying to sit with truck owners. Just as bus fares are fixed, if we can fix truck fares by distance, the market will be back in line with transport costs.

He said, we are trying to increase the supply of onion in the market. As the supply of onion in the market is less, the price is a little higher. Efforts are underway to bring onions from India. TCB itself is trying. As onions were brought during Ramadan, efforts are being made to distribute onions through TCB in and around Dhaka and the city.

Stating that the price of oil and sugar has been fixed, the state minister said, you will buy by looking at the price written on it. Still, if there is any problem, then call the hotline number of the Department of Consumer Protection. We will take action.
