Industrialist and young entrepreneur Salahuddin Chowdhury has joined the Board of Directors of Chuti Bay, one of the country’s major luxury hotel projects currently under construction in the tourism and hospitality sector.
He officially joined the board after signing an agreement at an event held at Chuti House in Banani, Dhaka, on Sunday evening. Senior officials of Chuti Group, members of the board of directors and other stakeholders attended the ceremony.
Seven-Star Luxury Hotel Project in Cox’s Bazar
Chuti Group began construction of the Chuti Bay project in 2026 at Kolatoli in Cox’s Bazar, one of Bangladesh’s most popular tourist destinations.
According to the project’s plans, Chuti Bay is being developed as a seven-star-standard luxury hotel featuring international-standard facilities and modern hospitality services.
Project officials said the initiative aims to provide world-class accommodation, hospitality and tourism facilities for both domestic and international visitors while strengthening Bangladesh’s tourism sector on the global stage.
Salahuddin Chowdhury on Joining the Project
Following his appointment to the board, Salahuddin Chowdhury said Bangladesh has significant potential in the tourism sector, particularly in Cox’s Bazar, where there are opportunities to develop international-standard tourism and hospitality infrastructure.
He described Chuti Bay as an important project developed around that potential.
“Plans have been taken to develop the hotel with international standards and modern facilities. Joining this project provides an important opportunity to contribute to the development of the country’s tourism industry. I hope the project will bring a new dimension to Bangladesh’s hospitality sector,” he said.
Salahuddin Chowdhury also said the project’s objective goes beyond developing a luxury hotel.
“Our goal is not only to build a luxury hotel, but also to create a tourism destination where domestic and international visitors can experience international-standard services combined with Bangladeshi hospitality,” he said.
He added that the project is also expected to contribute to creating new employment and investment opportunities.
Industry Leaders Attend Signing Ceremony
Chairman of Chuti Bay Mohammad Mizanur Rahman, Managing Director Muhammad Tariq Mahmud and entrepreneur Maksuda Chowdhury, along with officials from various levels of the organisation, attended the agreement-signing ceremony.
Speakers at the event said international-standard infrastructure, quality hospitality services and long-term investment are important for the sustainable development of Bangladesh’s tourism sector.
They noted that the development of high-quality tourism infrastructure in Cox’s Bazar could make the destination more attractive to both domestic and international tourists.
